There are so many young kids in the Franklin, Oil City area who are limited on what they can do in the winter months. I have posted recent blogs about some recreational things for the family to enjoy together. Kids like to be out doing things and having fun with friends. They like to be involved with sports with their friends. In the summer they always hang out at the basketball court. Everytime I drove past a playground that had a basketball court, it was crowded with young kids playing basketball.
Now that the winter is here, it prevents our kids from doing that. Both Franklin and Oil City have a YMCA. At the Y there is tons of things for kids to do. The basketball courts are always getting the most use out of any other place in the YMCA. The kids hold their own basketball games. They make up their own teams and have tournaments. This is a great way to let your kids enjoy being young and also is a great way for you to know where they are.
The membership charge isn't too bad. But if you don't want a membership the price per day isn't too too bad either. Plus if you pay for a day, you also get a coupon for a free day. So your kid can use it another day or even use it for a friend that same day.
