Girls Softball Registration

Spring is almost here. All you young athletes know what that means. Baseball and Softball season is almost here. The Cranberry Girls Softball Association will be holding its summer softball registrations during the second week of March.

Noontime Basketball Pick-Up Games At Oil City YMCA

I have always loved playing basketball. When I was young I was always in the park playing some hoops with my friends. Now that I'm older, I try to do really anything I can to stay involved with the game. I even coached high school basketball. Now I am working for a company that requires me to work alot of overtime.

Oil City Swimming and Diving Team

The Oil City Swimming and Diving Team Celebrated two victories at their senior night, Wednesday evening. The Beat Corry in non-region action. The coach, Curtis Chase led his oiler girls to their record 14-3 with a 118-61 triumph.

Oil City Powder Puff Football

I found a website about the Powder Puff Football game that was played at the Oil City High School last year. The website posted pictures of the game but it doesn't have any information on what day the game was played and the names of the girls who played in the game. Also, there is no information on if the game will be held again this year or not.

16th Annual Blue and White Booster Club Turkey Bowl

The 16th Annual Blue and White Boosters Turkey Bowl will be held Saturday, April 4th, at the Seneca VFD Social Hall. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased Saturday February 14th, and Sunday February 15th, at 5:30pm. Tickets will be on sale at the entrance of the Oil City High School gym.

The YMCA in Franklin and Oil City

There are so many young kids in the Franklin, Oil City area who are limited on what they can do in the winter months. I have posted recent blogs about some recreational things for the family to enjoy together. Kids like to be out doing things and having fun with friends. They like to be involved with sports with their friends. In the summer they always hang out at the basketball court. Everytime I drove past a playground that had a basketball court, it was crowded with young kids playing basketball.

Franklin Little League Baseball/Softball Signups

The Franklin Little League baseball and softball sign ups for the 2009 season will be held this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On Thursday and Friday sign ups will be held from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. On Saturday the signups will be held from 9 in the morning until noon.Baseball sign ups are for players from the ages of 5 through 16, and the softball sign ups are for players from the ages 9 through 16.

Parents, please remember that you will need to bring in your child's birth certificate, two checks and proof of insurance with you in order to sign your child up for the league. Parents are also encouraged to volunteer this year. Parents who plan on volunteering will need to bring in a copy of their driver's license.
